About 8 years ago I became involved with Big Brothers Big Sisters and was matched with an 11-year-old boy. During this time (he is now 19) we have remained great mates still catching up most weekends.

The process that you take to ensure that the mentoring match is right is lengthy, but you really got our match right.

I write this email today because today he left for The Army to undertake basic training. He has turned out to be one of most respectful and pleasant young guys I have ever met I couldn’t be prouder of him.

I really want to thank you guys for helping to enrich both of our lives. It is a marvelous organisation you have and feel really blessed to be part of it.
