In-School Mentoring

What’s Involved?

In-school mentoring works collaboratively with schools to identify young people who require additional support and would benefit from being matched with a mentor in order to build upon their level of school engagement, increase their self-belief and confidence to reach their potential.

While the expertise of schools lies in the delivery of curriculum, Big Brothers Big Sisters Australia identified a gap in the wraparound support offered to young people. Our program responds to schools seeking assistance and support to help strengthen positive student mental health and wellbeing. One-to-one in-school mentoring promotes holistic wellbeing for students throughout the school year, as well as providing support related to further education and career pathways. Mentoring support is tailored to the needs of each school and its students, ensuring our programs remain responsive to the community.
